Porsche 911 Turbo (930) Bargain

porsche 930

The auction for this car just ended, but I find many car auctions like this fall through. Would definitely be a deal, even at the winning bid price.

This is a 1979 Porsche 930, later known as a 911 Turbo. It represents the best of the first years of the 911 Turbo series. This was the last year the U.S. saw the 911 Turbo until 1986. This is a silver car with black interior. Here are some details from the auction page:

This is a beautiful example of an icon in the automotive world.  Starts easily and runs great.  All original except for the Blaupunkt CD player and speakers. Paint and body is virtually flawless.  Needs a carpet kit and AC service.   I am hesitant to sell this car, but since I rarely drive it, I feel it is time for someone else to enjoy it.

This car has documentation showing it spent most of its life in storage in Arizona until I brought it to Sun Valley, Idaho last fall.

Selling price: $23,766.

Late Model Porsche 911 Turbo Steal

porsche 911 turbo black 2008

The market still seems to be rather soft for high end sports case, especially late models. Today we’ve got a gorgeous looking 2008 Porsche 911 Turbo (997). It’s only got 33,605 miles on it and is a one owner California car bought new at Beverly Hills Porsche. A great looking car that appears to be in near new condition.

Here is some info from the auction description:

Clean Carfax. Non Smoker. There is NO paintwork. In unbelievable “like new” condition. NOT a single crease in the seat bolsters. There is not a single scratch on the paint or leather. This Turbo looks, drives, smells, and fells like a brand new Turbo.

Options: Sport Chrono Package Plus, Tire Pressure Monitoring TPM, Xenon lighting system, Limited Slip Rear Diff Lock 40%, CD Changer, Heated Seats, Leather Sun Visors, Center Console in Leather, Thicker Leather Steering Wheel, Bose Sound System, Black Full Leather, Module for Telephone PCM, Multi Stage Heated Front Seats, Park Distance Control.

Current auction price is $25,100 with about 3 days left. Not sure what the reserve price is, but could prove to be a heck of a bargain, especially if the seller is at all motivated. This car is hitting it’s third year of depreciation and will have lost 30% to 40% of it’s value from the original purchase price.

2001 Porsche 911 Turbo Bargain

porsche 911 turbo 2001

This is a 2001 Porsche 911 Turbo (996) with just under 95k miles on it. A great silver color with black interior. Spent most of it’s life in California. I love the look of this car and it would be a heck of a daily driver or weekend fun car.

Here are some more specs from the auction description:

Seal Gray With Black Leather Interior, Stainless Steel Entrance Panels, 3 Piece 18″ Polished Kinesis Wheels, 5 Speed Tiptronic, Digital Sound Package, 415HP / 413 FT. LB., 4.2 Seconds To 62 MPH

Currently the auction is at $25,225, but hasn’t met reserve yet. The seller claims the reserve is set low. Be a heck of a bargain for anything under $32k or so.

Porsche 911 Turbo Deal

Porsche 911 Turbo 930

I’ve always loved these older Porsche 911 Turbos. They’re brutally fast cars with lots of character. Some people hate how they drive with turbo lag and a tail happy personality, but I think it’s the essence of the 70′s and 80′s Porsche 911.

This is a 1983 Porsche 911 Turbo up for auction on eBay. It’s got no reserve on it and is currently at just under $9000. That’s a heck of a car for under ten grand.

Sounds pretty clean with only 35k miles on it. Silver with black interior. It is a gray market car, but as long as it was federalized properly, that shouldn’t pose any issues.
