Ferrari 355 Berlinetta Deal

October 7, 2010 by Ryan

ferrari 355 berlinetta silver 1995

I love the Ferrari 355. One of my favorite Ferrari 355 movie moments is when Nicolas Cage is chasing down Sean Connery in “The Rock”. Great scene.

This is a silver 1995 Ferrari 355. It’s got 33k miles on it and black leather. Description makes it sound like it’s in good condition and up to date on service schedule. Here’s more info from the auction description:

I am selling my beautiful Ferrari F355 because I have an F430 and other cars and need to liquidate for another acquisition.  It runs great with excellent body and interior condition.  All sticky parts have been replaced and look like new.  New factory manifolds and clutch were replaced around 30K miles.  Minor accident with prior owner, but other than a few minor cosmetic scratches, there is no body damage.   All service records with local Ferrari mechanic and full inspection done by local dealer.

Here’s both a benefit and a drawback. The car is located in Hawaii. Sure you’ll have to ship it, but you may be able to pick it up for less money since the market for the car in Hawaii will likely be softer.

No reserve on the auction and it’s at $35,500 last time I checked. A great step into a modern day Ferrari at a great price.

Yet Another Ferrari 348 TS

October 4, 2010 by Ryan

ferrari 348 ts 1990 euro spec

This time it’s a 1990 Ferrari 348 TS. Perfect color combo of red exterior with tan interior. Looks to be a in great shape with some nice mods like Tubi exhaust and the bottom trim painted to match the car.

It’s in Canada, but bringing it in to the U.S. shouldn’t be that big of a deal if you use a reputable importer. Auction is at just under $23k right now with only about an hour to go.

Here are some more details on the car:

1990 Ferrari 348 TS euro spec VIN: ZFFFA36S000086023. First delivered July 1990 in Switzerland and imported from Geneva in May 2005. Currently has under 54kms. Full engine out service and tubi exhaust installed when purchased 5 years ago. Has had the front and rear bumpers professionally painted (stone chips) and they are in great shape (only a few marks on the front bumper). Recent tires, always garage stored, never driven in the rain.

The car is tight and nimble, starts up right away, pulls hard. The A/C, HVAC controls work flawlessly (known issue on some cars), no dents, dash in great shape, no vibrations at highway speeds, brakes straight and without any pulsations. Has an aftermarket immobilizer (works great) and battery disconnect. This is an excellent example of a clean, solid, unmolested 348.

2000 Ferrari 360 Modena Deal

September 30, 2010 by Ryan

ferrari 360 modena coupe 2000

I can’t believe how much this particular Ferrari model has come down in price over the last year and a half. When I started really watching prices about two years ago, you couldn’t find anything under $100k. Now they’re going for $80k all day long.

This particular 2000 Ferrari 360 Modena I first saw on eBay, then saw it again on the dealer’s site in Texas. Red with black interior and only 21k miles. Here’s some of the details:

A rare euro model Ferrari F360 Modena… This is from the owners personal collection and a beauty she is… Upgraded 19″ wheels, custom alpine stereo with subwoofer behind the passenger seat tubi exhaust this Italian mistress is amazing…

Sure it’s a Euro spec model, but at that price, who cares?! As long as it has legit paperwork for the conversion to U.S. standards. Crazy they’re offering it at only $59,850. I bet you could offer $55k, maybe even less and take this bad boy home.

1965 Porsche 912 Deal

September 29, 2010 by Ryan

1965 porsche 912I don’t have a lot of details on this one, but this would be a great great classic car. It’s a 1965 Porsche 912. The listing says 24k miles, but I would be it’s way more than that. Especially once you read the description. This could easily be a decent daily driver or weekend car. You wouldn’t even have to go through the work of fixing it up perfectly. Just maintain it and enjoy it.

Here’s what limited info was included in the listing:

The body is rust free, yet carries a C-grade ‘Bahama Yellow’ paint job that’s many years old. There are multiple flaws, such as small dings, scratches, and even some paint lifting. Still, the car is utterly presentable as it is; personally, we wouldn’t mind keeping and enjoying it exactly like this.
The chrome wheels still sparkle and the tires are excellent.

This is going for $3,900/obo. Listed on multiple places including Oodle.com. A lot of car for the money in my opinion.

Ferrari 355 F1 Spider at a STEAL of a Price

September 28, 2010 by Ryan

1998 ferrari 355 f1 spider convertible

This is one heck of an amazing looking car. I’ve always loved the Ferrari 355 model and the Spider is just gorgeous. This is another one up on eBay. It’s a 1998 Ferrari 355 F1 Spider with just over 20k miles on it. Classic Ferrari red with tan interior. The only problem is a salvage title due to water damage. Check out the auction pictures though. This owner looks like he has money to fix things up right and the description indicates he’s done about everything there is to be done to the car.

I personally don’t know that I’d be afraid of a flood title. You could have the thing checked out and as long as it didn’t smell, why not?! It would be a heck of a daily driver and one you wouldn’t have to worry about putting some miles on and just enjoying. Here’s some info from the auction:

This 1998 F355 spider was purchased on Ebay 2-3 years ago as a project. This vehicle was involved in Hurricane Katrina and was sold on Ebay as not having an operable F1 transmission. I purchased the car knowing much work was needed. When the car arrived it was stripped to the skin and inspected. No real evidence of flood was noted (water line). The top appeared new and I have the opinion the hurricane ripped the top off and rained into the car.

Since that time I have POURED money into the vehicle. At the time I purchased this it was my second 355 and I didn’t mind having the “flood” blemish on the title as I planned to use as a daily driver. The project went out of control in my pursuit for perfection, I have replaced the ENTIRE rear engine wiring harness with factory new. I’ve installed the Scuderia Rampante “gold connector upgrade” at most engine connections. The transmission TCU and harness were replaced. The ENTIRE interior including gauges, dash (complete NEW assembly from Ricambi), steering wheel, carpet was all replaced with NEW. This car has no sticky switches anywhere. Interior was tastefully recovered by Fernando at Prestige upholstery in North Hollywood. Interior is tan stitched in black thread, prancing horse embossed on headrests. Vehicle has new JVC nav/video/CD unit with Polk audio speakers.. A/C blows ice cold. Main ECU was replaced, F1 pump replaced, F1 actuator replaced, clutch replaced. Fresh engine out major service including all belts, hoses, plugs, plug wires, etc. The exhaust has been upgraded to Fabspeed stainless headers, hyperflow cats, Tubi Challenge exhaust. Tires are brand new on custom wheels with Hill Engineering spacers. Needless to say it shifts perfectly now….

Here’s the clincher…this thing is at $30,000 with no reserve. A screaming deal.

This is a pretty nice looking Ferrari 360 Modena Spider. It’s the classic red with what appears to be a tan interior. Just over 50k miles. The owner claims it’s well maintained, but I don’t see a reference to any records. Here are some more details from the eBay auction page:

Porsche 911 Turbo Deal

September 24, 2010 by Ryan

Porsche 911 Turbo 930

I’ve always loved these older Porsche 911 Turbos. They’re brutally fast cars with lots of character. Some people hate how they drive with turbo lag and a tail happy personality, but I think it’s the essence of the 70’s and 80’s Porsche 911.

This is a 1983 Porsche 911 Turbo up for auction on eBay. It’s got no reserve on it and is currently at just under $9000. That’s a heck of a car for under ten grand.

Sounds pretty clean with only 35k miles on it. Silver with black interior. It is a gray market car, but as long as it was federalized properly, that shouldn’t pose any issues.

Here’s a link to the auction if you’re interested: 1983 Porsche 911 930.

1993 Ferrari Mondial T Bargain

September 17, 2010 by Ryan

ferrari-mondial-t-1993-blue

I found this Ferrari Mondial T up for sale on eBay this week. It’s a 1993 with some seriously cool options for the Mondial series. Most notably are the 295 hp engine (similar to the Ferrari 348), power steering and the Valeo transmission. The Valeo transmission was a pretty rare option, but desirable.

It’s only got 45k miles on it and is a sweet blue color with tan interior.

Last I checked, the car was at $23,100. A heck of a price for what appears to be a very clean Ferrari Mondial T.

You can check out the auction here: 1993 Ferrari Mondial.

1999 Ferrari 355 GTB Steal of a Deal

June 16, 2010 by Ryan

Here’s another amazing deal on a modern Ferrari. This time it’s a 1999 Ferrari 355 GTB with less than 20k miles on the odometer. It’s red with tan interior (THE color for a Ferrari in my opinion) and has some nice extras. Sounds like it’s been well taken care of too.

Here are some more details:

This 1999 Ferrari 355 GTB has the amazing F-1 transmission. This is the best of both worlds. On open roads you can use the paddle-shift or if you get stuck in traffic of are just tired – you can push a button and the car instantly becomes a fully automatic car and your hands are free.

This car has… No smells or odors (smells new). No. Leaks. No. Squeaks. No smoke. No rattles. No weird sounds anywhere. The paint looks 10-feet-deep and has not a scratch anywhere. The paint is all original and mint. This car never saw the rain or snow and is only driven on picturesque days. The car shifts flawlessly in Auto and F-1 paddle-manual. No loose gears. This final-year 355GTB is just an utterly-gorgeous specimen that’s showroom perfect exterior is matched with a perfectly clean interior. I just cleaned it myself. This car also comes with 1. Ferrari’s 355 car cover. 2. A large Ferrari Tool Set with spare light bulbs and more. 3. 10-Disc CD Player (of course it’s the original Ferrari branded system) 4. All books. 5. 2 Key sets. 6. And some misc Ferrari items like their flashlight.

Bargain Ferrari 360 Modena

June 13, 2010 by Ryan

This 1999 Ferrari 360 Modena has a starting bid of only $38,000 on eBay. There’s a reserve, but many of these 360’s are going for screaming deals in the $60k and $70k range. When I first started watching these (just before the economy started tanking), it was tough to find any for under $100k.

This one would need a little TLC, but it’s still got lots of life in it. It’s a bit higher on the mileage scale with 75,500 miles, but the seller is promising a full belt service as part of the sale. This would be a great driving car you wouldn’t have to worry about babying. Here’s some info from the auction:

Chrome wheels, Tubi exhaust, Red calipers. Needs work on the front bumper. Front bumper is scuffed beyond repair underneath, needs new front bumper. (From steep driveways only) Driver’s side leather seat upper sides parts need repair.  Last 60k miles driven in Southern California. This car was serviced well by an independent and driven often. Needs new headliner. Purchase price will include new timing belt and complete service before delivery. Engine, transmission and suspension are still in excellent condition. Paint nicks and all over the front from driving on the highways. This car was virtually problem-free. Except for a few ignition coils that went out when I washed the engine. I found out that the housings crack over time and water enters and ruins them. No check engine light, no smoke, passes smog check every time. (the ’99 has a special procedure, of course) The 1999 360 has only two catalytic converters and no secondary air injection system.
